Opening on Saturday October 22nd, this exhibition will give visitors an insight into sculptors' thinking. Drawing With Metal brings together the work of local, national and international artists in a group exhibition running until December 18th (weekends only). As the title suggests, some of the work will be a loose interpretation of drawing, by way of mounted relief work in metal and other materials. There will also be several works on paper, preliminary sketches for sculpture and working drawings will show visitors how an idea can be developed until it eventually becomes an object. The drawings on paper will be accompanied by the sculpture they became. Artists' sketchbooks will be displayed and there will be space for visitors to respond to the work on show with their own drawings.
