Friends & Volunteers
Friends of The Bullpen:
In 2010 The Bullpen will be expanding its Friends Group. The group was established in 2006 in order to provide practical and financial support to The Bullpen. We aim to develop practical support through the volunteer scheme under a lead volunteer. Interested supporters and artists should contact the administrator for more information about volunteering in the gallery and at workshops and other events.

Arts Council Funding

The Bullpen was granted substantial Arts Council funding to run metal-casting workshops for artists and visitors over 2009-10. The award has been used to develop our audience, to develop our artist programme and to run four large casting events.
Highlights incude the Iron Pour (August 2009) attended by over 150 visitors, including local MP Ed Vaizey. Iron sculpture for 12 artists was cast along with iron tiles for Uffington Primary School and for individual visiting participants in the workshop. Local ale & hog roast, icecream and local band Mammoth & The Drum were enjoyed as well as the exhibition in The Bullpen Gallery and the spectacle of the 'pour' itself.

What they say about The Bullpen:

The Iron pour at The Bullpen Foundry enabled me to make my first steps into this wonderful world of sand cast metal. The friendly and supportive environment allowed me as a beginner to experience a process that has transformed my artistic practice as well as my aims and self-belief. Not only was the event incredibly well planned, but also the tireless dedication and enthusiasm of the Jacobs family made the Bullpen’s first Iron Pour a success that travels far beyond its practical achievements.
